It's 11pm and I'm waiting for Brad to get home from work....my eyelids are heavy and burny....but I'm really trying to catch a glimpse of the hubs today. We just had 4 days with everyone together and no one working - that was wonderful time spent! Then today was back to reality and I don't like it a bit! I was out the door before anyone was up, then picked up the children at the Kincaid's where Brad had dropped them off on his way to work. And this is the way it works on the days where we both work. So, while I wait up, here's the Christmas re-cap I just know you're dying to read, right? lol
Ethan was thrilled with each and every Nerf gun he unwrapped. And there were many. Several. More orange foam bullets whizz past my head in an evening followed by a gasp and a quick "sorry Mom" than I can count. I'm surprised at how well he's keeping up with them all....I was sure that a "Tommy 20" would have dwindled down to a "Tommy 15" at least by now. But he's quick to gather up the artillary and keep the count high. Wish he'd be quick to gather up the dirty boy socks too. ;-)
Ella Grace's favorite gift is the digital video camera, hands down. She's recorded hours of our lives already. Thankfully, no software has been loaded on any computer and so none of this will show up on youtube anytime soon. Oh, and she keeps recording over previous footage - at least I hope that's what's happening. I gotta check and see just how big that card really is I guess. But she's funny about trying to record me, knowing I'll say not now, "bad hair day", "no makeup", or whatever. So she says - with a blinking red light and holding it up to her eye, mind you - Mom, tell me again how to turn this thing off, I just can't seem to remember? And then she waits for my explanation, never pulling it away from her face. My little director in the making. Other gifts to note: an ATM bank that she loves, cupcake decorator machine that makes a big mess and she adores it, Apples to Apples Jr. board game that we all love, a webkinz, a skateboard that she's been out on every day even in the rain a little, a hair dye chemistry set that she's dying to break open and probably make her hair blue, a journal, and art classes that start on the 17th that she's stoked about! I'm sure there's more, but I just can't remember right now.
Eris is all about that 2nd or 3rd Webkinz she received and the perfumes that Santa brought that she had put on (all 4 flavors at once, mind you) right away. Oh, and the guitar that's basically a little girl version of guitar hero. We all love the board game Horton Hears a Who and highly recommend it to all our friends with kids!! Assorted other gifts this year were My Little Ponies, Barbie princess dress-up gown, high heeled shoes, a talking scanning cash register, Disney princess bath set with salts and lotions, 2 new gymnastics leotars, a sparkley silver outfit w/matching sparkly jeans, and more.
Ehren had the best Christmas ever - opening every present was so darned exciting! And he would scream whatever it was he saw and clap and no matter what it was it was just the best thing in the world for him!! We laughed and laughed at his excitement. He loves that new Elmo (well, loves to beat it up really - and try to feed it real food), and all the Hot Wheels cars and the carrying case that makes him an official collector like his big brother. Oh, and the talking Handy Manny guy with all the tools is a huge hit! He's been known to go with us on rides all over town ever since the 25th and we all know the saying by heart already. (in fact, I can't wait for those batteries to die at this point! lol) Uncle Matt gave Ehren the walking, roaring, wing flapping dinosaur and that gets lots of play-time when we're at home....not feasible for car rides really. The rest of his loot is basically hot wheels, dump trucks, oh, and the cutest Playskool helmet with remote control steering wheel so he can run around and pretend like he's a cop.....too bad it's not yet out of the box. I'll try to get that out tomorrow and get that toy going cause that's going to make for some very cute 2.5 year old pics! lol
Well, my plan worked! Brad got home early....it's 11:45pm and I'm signing off. I have probably 100 pics to get off my camera from the last 3 months - and many to share here. I'll add it to my 'to do' list and see what I can do. ;-)
